History of the Church
Methodist Church, Nadiad was established in 1897. This information we get from the G. W. Parks tablet which is placed in the Methodist Church Nadiad.
1889
Famine relief and the first school
Rev. G. W. Park was appointed to Nadiad for ministry, and started the first school. During the great famine of 1889 he established camps, hostels and schools in the villages around Nadiad.
1895
The Gujarat missionary district begins
In 1895 the Gujarat missionary district was started, and Rev. Dr. E. F. Fridge became superintendent of the district. In the same year the first fellowship began in Nadiad.
1897
The church is built
In 1897 the church building was raised — the church that is known today as Methodist Church Nadiad.
2009
Renovation
The church was renovated during 2009–2010. Though the old structure has been retained, the walls have been polished and strengthened. The roof has been replaced, and the floor has received a new look with new tiles covering it.
2022
125 years
In 2022 the congregation celebrated the 125th year of the church.
